So what does this have to do with mules? Nothing. However, I thought you'd be interested to know the animals used to pull the "tourist wagons" on the streets of New Orleans are mules, not horses. This is because of the heat. Horses are so good to people they never complain and will walk until they die. Mules on the other hand will just sit down if they think they're being overworked and refuse to budge. So... they use one set of mules for six months, then swap them with another set that have spent the last six months getting fat in the pasture. The photo?? Is that in New Orleans?? Nope. Saw them just north of where we're staying and thought you might enjoy it too. (I have NO idea if they're horses or mules.)Monday, February 26, 2007
